The 2017 Premium Three Coin Proof Sovereign Set celebrates the 200th Anniversary of the first modern sovereign. The 22 carat gold set contains a double sovereign, a full sovereign and a half sovereign struck to a proof finish. Each of the coins feature a remastered version of the original St George and the Dragon garter engraving by Benedetto Pistrucci.

200th Anniversary Sovereigns

The premium set features a gold proof £2, sovereign and half sovereign. Each coin is dated 2017 and features the 200th Anniversary remastered version of Benedetto Pistrucci's St George and the Dragon design on the reverse.

The sets have a limited edition presentation of 450.

Obverse

The obverse of the coin shows the Jody Clark portrait of Elizabeth II. This is the fifth coinage portrait. The date appears on the obverse of the coin, for the first time since 1887.

Reverse

The reverse features a special, re-mastered version of Benedetto Pistrucci's St George and the Dragon.

Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense

The garter inscription on the St. George and the Dragon reverse reads "Honi soit qui mal y pense", which is French for "Shame be to him who thinks evil of it".

Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
