Elizabeth II

A 65th anniversary is referred to as a Sapphire Anniversary or a Blue Sapphire Anniversary. Elizabeth II acceded to the throne on the death of her father, King George VI on the 6 February 1952. The Queen overtook Queen Victoria's reign to become Britain's Longest Reigning Monarch on 10 September 2015.

Commemorative crowns are British legal tender although you will not find them in circulation. These coins are highly sought after by collectors.

The obverse of the coin shows the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark. The coin bears the inscription:

Reverse

The reverse was designed by engraver, Glyn Davies. It features the Imperial State Crown, worn by Elizabeth after she was crowned Queen. The text reads "My whole life, whether it be long or short, devoted to your service. SAPPHIRE JUBILEE - 1952 - 2017".

Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
