The reverse of the 2017 Uncirculated Sovereign with Privy Mark feature the classic Benedetto Pistrucci's St George and the Dragon design, unlike the proof version, which features a remastered version of the design, and includes the garter border.
Sovereigns are British legal tender and both VAT free and exempt from Capital Gains Tax. It should be noted that the uncirculated sovereigns are bullion coins which are sold at a small premium over their intrinsic metal value. They are struck once and may have small imperfections on the surface. Sovereigns are sent to us in tubes of 25 coins.
The gold sovereign is one of our most popular gold investment bullion coins.
We received our first delivery on 12th December, 2016.

The obverse shows the fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, by the artist, Jody Clark. This is only the second time the portrait has appeared on the bullion sovereign.
The reverse of the 2017 sovereign features Benedetto Pistrucci's St George and the Dragon engraving, first used on sovereigns in 1817. A privy mark is set to the left of the date in exergue, it consists the number 200 set above a quartered shield. The date is slightly smaller to accommodate the design feature.

Gold investment products are VAT free. Silver investment products are inclusive of VAT at the current rate unless otherwise stated.
All investment products are based on the live precious metal price. Prices will be fixed once the item has been added to the basket and re calculates just before checking out.
If your product is not a graded coin and is considered a bullion item it should be noted that these are bought and sold on low premiums over their precious metal content and not solely for aesthetic purposes, therefore some products may have edge knocks and/or marks. These edge knocks and marks do not alter the specifications of the coins.
Please note that all investment products are exempt from the Distance Selling Regulation and therefore customers do not have the right to cancel their order once the order has been accepted. If customers no longer wish to go ahead with their investment purchase, there is an option to sell the products back to Chard (1964) Ltd instead. You can view our current buy back prices here.
