This is a 2017 50th Anniversary Quarter Ounce Gold Proof Krugerrand.

The coin is struck from fine 22 carat gold and contains one quarter of a troy ounce of the precious metal.

This coin features a commemorative privy mark to celebrate 50 years of the Krugerrand coin! The privy mark can be found on the reverse of the coin. It is above the back of springbok and below the inscription of Krugerrand.

The coin comes in a presentation box with certificate.

Proof Krugerrands

The gold Krugerrand was the world's first gold bullion coin. It was first issued in 1967. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the coin, the South African Mint, in conjunction with Rand Refinery, issued gold proof versions of the coins featuring a special 50th anniversary privy mark.

Obverse

The obverse design shows a portrait of Paul Kruger by Otto Schultz.

Reverse

The revese of the coin shows a spingbok antelope, the one of the national symbols of South Africa. It was designed by Coert Steynberg.

The special 50th anniversary privy mark can be found to the top, left of the antelope.

VAT:
Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
