The 2016 silver proof Britannia 1oz coin features Suzie Zamit's engraving of Britannia standing in front of a lion. This is a different design than the one seen on the bullion version. The proof coin is struck in 999 silver and comes in a presentation box with a certificate.

The silver proof Britannia coins are struck in 999 fine silver. The mintage on the 2016 silver proof Britannia is 4,150 although a maximum of 7,000 may be minted. The balance will be issued in coin sets.

Obverse

The obverse of the coin features the fifth effigy portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Royal Mint engraver, Jody Clark.

Reverse

As in previous years, the silver proof Britannia features a different design to the bullion coin. The coin shows Britannia with a shield and trident, standing in front of a lion. The reverse was designed by Suzie Zamit, the first female Britannia designer. The trident that Britannia holds is meant to symbolise strength and control, whilst the shield represents security. The sea is visible in the background.

Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
