This Guernsey gold coin was issued to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's 90th Birthday. The coin features a special portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse, which was only used on the Guernsey 90th Birthday coins.

Struck from 22 carat gold and weighing 311g, this large coin contains over 9.17 troy ounces of gold. This coin is a must-have for serious collectors!

Queen Elizabeth II's 90th Birthday Celebrations

Celebrations for the Queen's 90th birthday began on 21st April, 2016 (her actual birthday) and continued past 11th June, 2016 (her 'official' birthday). Public celebrations included street parties, as well as a concert at The Mall.

Queen Elizabeth is the first British monarch in history to have reached the milestone age.

Obverse

The obverse features a new design created specifically to mark the occassion of Queen Elizabeth II Birthday. Created by Luigi Badia, the portrait depicts the moncarch facing to the right surrounded by the following inscription:

Reverse

The reverse designs holds the "E II R" initials in ittalics at the centre of the coin, surrounded by a reath with a crown above and the demonination stated below.
