The Chinese Panda coin is eagerly awaited each year by investors and coin collectors.

N.B. These coins do not come in their original packaging.

The gold Pandas were previously measured in troy ounces, however starting with the 2016 coins, they will now be measured in grams. This is thought to be so the Chinese mint can market the coins in grams and kilos within China - their largest market. The new sizes (in grams) are 30, 15, 8, 3 and 1 and are roughly equivalent to one, half, quarter, tenth and twentieth ounce coins respectively.

The 2016 Pandas were released in December, 2015.

The obverse of the Chinese Panda coins feature the Temple of Heaven in Beijing with the year, 2016.

Reverse

The reverse design on the gold Panda coin changes most years, making the coins highly collectible to collectors as well as investors. The reverse of the coins shows an adult panda on a branch. The reverse is inscribed with 30g Au .999 as well as the denomination 500 yuan.
