Platinum Proof 2014 1 oz Maple Leaf Coin.
Unlike the bullion versions of this coin, the 2014 proof version features a unique image of a sugar maple leaf on the reverse. It has a mintage of just 250.
The coin is struck in .9995 fineness and contains one troy ounce of platinum. A certifcate of authenticity and presentation box is included.
Canada has produced a range of platinum coins featuring the maple leaf. The one ounce coin was first introduced in 1988, alongside the silver maple leaf coin. Both follow on from the sucessful gold maple leaf coins which were released in 1979.
The range of weights for the platinum coins start at one twentieth of an ounce, and go up to one ounce.
The obverse shows the righ-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. It was designed by Susannah Blunt.
