The 2013 Gold Proof Sovereign 4-Coin Set.

This set features a double sovereign, a full sovereign, a half sovereign and a quarter sovereign, all struck in 22-carat gold.

It is accompanied with its own certificate of authenticity and presented in an attractive Royal Mint gift box. Only 495 of these sets were issued.

2013 Sovereign Sets

Each year since 1980, the Royal Mint have produced sets of 3 and 4 coins in the gold sovereign series, in 2009 the four coin set became a five coin set with the introduction of the quarter sovereign. The 3 coin set usually consists of a sovereign, half sovereign and double sovereign or two pound piece, this is now called a Premium Three Coin Set. The 'standard' three coin set now contains a sovereign, a half sovereign and the quarter sovereign.

Obverse

The obverse shows the fourth definitive UK coin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, his initials IRB are below the truncated neck. This effigy appeared on coins from 1998 until 2015.

Reverse

The reverse features the Benedetto Pistrucci depiction of St. George slaying the dragon.

These may have minor scratches or edge knocks, but this does not affect their value. Any coin sold for a value less than a 180% intrinsic is considered a bullion coin.
VAT:
Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
