The 2012 Kangaroos are also known as 'Nuggets'. Until 1990 the coins featured famous gold nuggets on the reverse. From 1990 onwards the design changed to feature a kangaroo instead. For this reason the coins may be called nuggets, kangaroos or 'roos. The Perth Mint bullion coins have an exceptional "proof-like" finish, and each coins comes in a plastic capsule.

The obverse of the 2012 one ounce gold Kangaroo coin shows the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Elizabeth II.

Designed by Wade Robinson, the iconic Australian Kangaroo stands with a water tower and bush windmill in the background.

The coin bears the inscription:

Diameter (mm) 25.1
Weight (g) 15.59
Fineness 99.99% 24 Carat Fine Gold
Actual Gold Weight 0.5 Ounces

All investment products are based on the live precious metal price. Prices will be fixed once the item has been added to the basket and recalculates just before checking out.

If your product is not a graded coin and is considered a bullion item it should be noted that these are bought and sold on low premiums over their precious metal content and not solely for aesthetic purposes, therefore some products may have edge knocks and/or marks. These edge knocks and marks do not alter the specifications of the coins.
