This time struck in 22 carat gold, the beautiful proof quality coin has a subtle lustre, perfectly reflecting the 'friendship in love' that it's designer, British sculptor Mark Richards, took as his inspiration for the coin. This gold proof £5 coin is often referred to as a crown, it is British legal tender and is exempt from Capital Gains Tax.

The obverse features the fourth definitive UK coin portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley and the inscription:
