1994 Maple Leaf Gold 1/15 oz Coin.
The Royal Canadian Mint rather unusually issued a one fifteenth ounce gold maple coin in 1994. This was the only year which these maples were issued, making them a peculiar collector's coin.
This coin has a relatively low mintage for a bullion coin - just 5,493. They are struck in .9999 (24 carat) fine gold.
The coin is issued loose. You can add a 16mm coin capsule to your order in the basket.
The gold Maple is a popular choice for investors looking to buy quality gold bullion at low premiums.
Bearing the national plant emblem of Canada, the Maple is one of the most easily recognised bullion coins in the world. This engraving was designed by coin engraver, Stanley Witten. Issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, the gold Maple is struck in 999.9 fineness, 24 carat gold. The Maple is issued annually in sizes typically varying from 1 oz to 1/20 oz - in some years a 1/15 oz, 1/25 oz and a 1 gram coin have been issued.
The obverse features the Canadian portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II by Dora de Pédery-Hunt. The inscription reads:
ELIZABETH II 2 DOLLARS 1994
The reverse features an engraving of Canada's national emblem, the Maple leaf together with the inscription:
