The Perth Mint in Australia produce some of the most beautiful bullion coins in the world. This Series I 2009 one kilo silver uncirculated coin celebrates the Chinese lunar Year of the Ox. Struck in 999 silver fineness, this coin comes in a protective capsule.
The Perth Mint in Australia started issuing Chinese lunar coins in 1996 with a range of gold bullion coins for the Year of the Rat/Mouse. This was followed by the introduction of silver lunar coins in 1999. The silver lunar coins issued between 1999 to 2010 is called Series I. Series II coins are issued between 2011 to 2022.

The obverse bears the fourth coin portrait of Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley with the inscription:

The reverse features an engraving of an adult ox with its calf. The coin bears the inscription Year of the Ox with the Chinese symbol for the year of the Ox. The mint mark P for Perth Mint is in the field (the background) to the left of the design.
