1908 London Summer Olympic Games

The 1908 London Olympic Centenary design was created to commemorate 100 years since London first hosted the Summer Olympic Games in 1908, in which 22 nations and a total of 2,008 athletes participated.

Great Britain went on to win the most medals at the 1908 Olympic Games, with a total of 146 medals: 56 gold, 51 silver, and 39 bronze. This was 99 more medals than the second-placed United States, which won 47 medals.

2012 London Olympic Games

The 2012 Summer Olympics began on 27th July 2012. It was the third time the summer games were held in London. Team GB finished 3rd in the table, with 65 total medals (including 29 gold).

The first coin in the set, the 1908 London Olympic Centenary coin, depicts a running track along with the dates and face value of the coin. The surrounding legend reads as follows:

LONDON OLYMPIC CENTENARY

The other coin in this set shows the Olympic flag being passed from one hand, representing the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics, to another hand, representing the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games. The 2012 Olympic logo can be seen at the bottom of the coin.

Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
