In 2006, St. George and the dragon returned to all four coins in the gold proof four-coin sovereign collection, after the special one-off St. George reverse design in 2005.

This set cointains four proof Sovereigns ; the Quintuple Sovereign (£5) , the Double Sovereign (£2) , the Sovereign (£1) and the Half Sovereign.

This proof 4 coin Sovereign set is struck in 22 carat gold by The Royal Mint .This set comes in a presentation box with a certificate of authenticity.

As in some previous years the 3 coin and 4 coin sovereign collections contain all coins of the same design, however in a number of years, the two pound coin included with the sets has been the commemorative version instead. For 2006, all four coins are the St. George and Dragon version.

Obverse

The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. It is the fourth portrait of Elizabeth to be used on the coins. The legend reads as:

Reverse

After taking a year off in 2005, the traditional St George and the Dragon design, by Benedetto Pistrucci, makes a return on the coin. This design is probably the most iconic of the reverse designs, and has been featured on most sovereigns since its introduction in 1817.

Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
