The Sweden pattern Euro 2003 Collection features 8 pieces cellebrating the unification of Sweden and the Euro. The striking collection comprses coinage intended to demonstrate how Swedish Euro coins could look, after bidding farewell to the krone and ore.

The 5,2 and 1 pattern euro coins wonderfully illustrate the icconic Swedish ship, Vasa. Symbolising peace, justice and commerce the vessel was designed by Donald R. Golder.

As a way of paying homage to the last Swedish king, Gustav VI, the 1 and 2 euro coins, alongside the 50, 20 and 10 cent coins all feature a depiction of monarchy.

Sweden and the Euro

In September 2003, Sweden held a national referendum in order to decide if the nation would adopt the Euro currency. Each of the designs in the set were submitted to Riksbank. After the national vote was cast the Swedish parliment, Riksdag, chose their Euro design.

Pattern Coins

Previously, pattern coins have been produced to to test public favour of a new design.Typically, these have been privately produced. A privately produced pattern set of British euro coins has already been produced, and met with intense demand, despite almost negligible marketing. Original priced at around €40, these have changed hands for over €250 on ebay.

These may have minor scratches or edge knocks, but this does not affect their value. Any coin sold for a value less than a 180% intrinsic is considered a bullion coin.
VAT:
Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
