This 2-coin Sovereign set was issued by Jersey to mark the new Millenium. This was the first time that Jersey issued a Sovereign coin.

Both coins minted by The Royal Mint are struck in 22-carat gold and are struck in proof condition

These coins come with a presentation box and a certificate of authenticity.

Only 1750 of these sets were issued.

The Jersey 2000 Sovereign

This was the first time that Jersey issued a Gold Sovereign. The Reverse of the Sovereign featured a different compared to its English counterpart. The Reverse of the Jersey sovereign featured the portrait of William I (1066-1087), the first King of England. William I was also known as the ‘Duke of Normandy’ in Jersey due to the Channel Islands forming part of the Duchy of Normandy.

Obverse

Both coins feature Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Reverse

The reverse of the UK sovereign features the iconic St. George and the Dragon portrait by Benedetto Pistrucci.

The reverse of the Jersey sovereign shows the rare Robert Elderton portrait of William the Conqueror.

Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
