Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother

Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon was born on the 4th of August 1900 in London. She married the then Prince Albert Duke of York (George VI) in 1932. Following the abdication of Edward VIII, his younger brother Albert was next in succession. This resulted in the couple being coronated on the 12th of May 1937. She would go on to have two children, Queen Elizabeth II & Princess Margaret. On the 6th of February 1952 George VI died, resulting in their eldest daughter Elizabeth becoming Queen. She would help assist and attend royal events until her death. She died on the 30th of March 2002, at the age of 101.
