In 2000 the Royal Mint issued a coin set to to commemorate the year of the dragon.

Struck in 22-carat/0.917 fine gold, this set features 3 coins denominated in patacas

This set comes in a presentation box with a certificate of authenticity.

According to the certificate which accompanies these coins:

"Chinese mythology tells of a day when Buddha summoned all animals to a meeting and promised that any of them whom paid him homage would be honoured by having a year named after them. Only 12 animals arrived at the meeting place and so each year of the twelve year cycle of the Chinese calender was named after an animal in the order they arrived at the meeting with Buddha. The rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, cockerel, dog and pig."

Obverse

The obverse features an image of St. Paul's church in Santo Antonio, Macau.

Reverse

The reverse features an image of a dragon along with its denomination in patacas.

Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
