Nordic Gold

The 20 cent coin, along with the 50 cent and 10 cent coins, are made from an alloy called 'Nordic Gold'. This is a composition that typically consists of copper, aluminum, zinc and tin. Despite the coin's gold colour, there is no gold in the coin.

Euros

The Euro currency was announced in 1999. Although it did not enter circulation until 2002, some of the coins are dated 1999.

Spanish Flower

The coins are round and have 7 indents in the sides. This flan shape is known as a Spanish flower. The first coin to feature this design was the Spanish 50 peseta in 1990.

Obverse

The obverse features an adapted map of Europe. It was designed by Lux Luyck and her initials appear next to the number zero. The text reads:-

20 Euro Cent

Reverse

These are mixed coins so there are various reverse designs.
