Common Wallaroo

Common Wallaroo's share similar features to kangaroo's, such as strong hind legs and a long tail. They are predominately herbivourus an are well adapted to several habitats including rock terain. They can be found throughout Australia, but do not live in Tasmania.

Gold Nuggets

Until 1990 the coins featured famous gold nuggets on the reverse and were referred to as 'nuggets'. From 1990 onwards the design changed to feature a kangaroo instead. For this reason the coins may be called nuggets, kangaroos or 'roos.
