Red Kangaroos

A male Red Kangaroo (Buck) can grow to 6 feet (1.8m) tall whilst the females (Doe) typically grow 4-5 feet (1.22m-1.52m) tall. They can reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour (64 kilometers per hour) and can cover 25 feet (7.6 meters) in a single leap!

Why is the Nugget popular?

The Gold Nugget coin series was first introduced in 1986 as a competitor to other Countries coins such as the Maple, Krugerrand and Britannia. The series originally had reverse designs of different gold nuggets discovered in Australia but changed to Kangaroos in 1989, with this coin being the first design of Kangaroo!

The Obverse features the 3rd Portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael David Maklouf.
