This coin has been professionally graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) and has been awarded the grade of PF-69 ULTRA CAMEO.

This coin has also been awarded the descriptor of ULTRA CAMEO, meaning that the fields of the coin are deeply mirrored and the devices are frosted for moderate contrast on both sides of the coins.

This Proof Sovereign has been struck in 22 carat / 0.917 fine gold and contains 0.2354 troy ounces of the precious metal.

Proofs are specially struck coins, with a highly polished mirror finished background, and the raised design in contrasting matt finish. They are issued as limited editions, and are more expensive than the ordinary uncirculated version.

Obverse

The obverse of the coin features the second portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as designed by British artist and sculptor, Arnold Machin. The obverse legend reads as:

Reverse

The reverse features the iconic St George and the Dragon design by Benedetto Pistrucci. This was first used on sovereigns in 1817.
