Issued by The Royal Mint to celebrate the Silver Wedding Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. This stunning Jersey coin set contains nine coins struck to a proof finish.
In 1972, Jersey released a coin set to commemorate the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. The set was issued in two finishes; proof and brilliant uncirculated. This was the first time that Jersey had issued gold coins making them particularly interesting to coin collectors.
Jersey is a Crown Dependency of the United Kingdom and forms part of the Channel Islands. Whilst the coins issued are not legal tender in the Britain, they are are free from Capital Gains Tax.
We have a fairly large number of these coins sets in stock and have reduced the premiums making this a perfect time to buy collectable coins at a low premium over the intrinsic metal value! When the stock level drops they will be increased back to their original premium of 25%.
The obverse of each coin in the collection bears the second coin portrait of Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin with the legend QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND SILVER WEDDING 1972

The Arms of the Bailiwick of Jersey with the three gold lions passant guardant are derived from the seal which was granted in 1279 by Edward I.

The Royal Arms of 1593 from Elizabeth Castle in St Aubin's Bay.
Gold Twenty Pounds Coin
Ormer, a mollusc and a great local delicacy.

A gold torque (or torc). This priceless bronze age relic was discovered in St Helier in 1889.

Silver Fifty Pence Coin
The Royal Mace of Jersey is symbolic of the island's ancient links with the British crown. It was presented to the Bailiff of Jersey by King Charles II in 1663.

Gold investment products are VAT free. Silver investment products are inclusive of VAT at the current rate unless otherwise stated.
