This 1926 Gold Full Sovereign George V Coin has been graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and has been given the grade of MS 63 or "Uncirculated" condition.
Struck in 22-carat / .917 fine gold, this coin contains 0.235 troy ounces of the precious metal.
The five Royal Mint branches; London, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Pretoria issued a total of 13,663,346 British gold sovereigns in 1926. There were 1,313,578 coins issued in Perth.
The 'large head' portrait of George V's bare head facing left is on the obverse of the coin. The portrait Designer Edgar Bertram Mackennal was born in 1863 in Melbourne Australia. The legend which surrounds the kings portrait reads:

There are two types of George V gold sovereigns; those with the 'small head' portrait of George V, and those with the 'large head' portrait.
The reverse of the 1926 Perth Mint sovereign features St George mounted on a horse slaying the dragon with his sword. This classic design has featured on the gold sovereign since 1817 and is the work of Italian sculptor Benedetto Pistrucci.
