The Edward VII sovereign was produced by five branch mints in 1910. These were the Royal Mint in London, the Ottawa mint in Canada, and the three Australian branch mints; Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
The obverse of the 1910 gold sovereign bears the portrait of Edward VII facing right with the legend EDWARDVS VII D:G:BRITT:OMN:REX:F:D:IND:IMP: This was created by Royal Mint engraver, George William De Saulles.
The narrow toothed border on the 1910 Edward VII sovereigns distinguishes these coins from previous years. The reverse of this coin features Benedetto Pistrucci's famous engraving of St George slaying the dragon. The absence of a mintmark in the exergue below the dragon denotes that this coin was issued in London.
