This 1896 Gold Double Eagle Coronet Head Coin is in better condition than bullion, though it is not graded. It was struck at the San Francisco branch of the US Mint with a mintage of 1,403,925 coins.

These popular coins are referred to as "Coronet Liberty" eagles. They were designed by James B. Longacre, who was chief engraver of the US Mint between 1844 and 1869. Be careful not to confuse them with the modern gold bullion eagles issued since 1986.

Obverse

The obverse shows a coronet head of Liberty, facing left surrounded by 13 stars. The date is set below the neck of Liberty.

Reverse

The reverse shows a representation of the Great American Seal with a halo of 13 stars and a circumscription reading:

Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
