The Young Head Sovereigns were issued for Queen Victoria in almost every year from 1838 to 1887. There were two reverse designs; the Young Head shield was produced from 1837 to 1887 inclusive, with the St George and Dragon reverse produced from 1871-1887.

Sovereigns are British legal currency, these gold coins are free from both capital gains tax and VAT.
