This 1826 gold half sovereign was the first half sovereign under George IV to use Chantry bare head bust engraved by William Wyon.

George IV half sovereigns were minted from 1821 to 1828, except for 1822.
1826 was the first year the bare head portrait was used on a half sovereign. Previous years showed the King with a laureate head.
There is also a second version of the 1826 sovereign. The second version, George IV has an extra tuft of hair.
The edge is milled and the coin has a coin alignment.
