This is a rare 1819 over 1818 overdate coin. It has LIX followed by a small flower stop on the edge and is listed with all the other 1819 crowns under spink reference number 3787. This is only the first one we have owned knowingly!

A lovely example of a George III crown retaining almost all of the fine detail, the wear on this coin being mostly in the field.

Benedetto Pistrucci's St George and the dragon. 'PISTRUCCI' under the ground in exergue. Interestingly and noticed by our photographer the letters of PISTRUCCI are not in a very straight line. Legend reads:
