1774 Gold George III Guinea Coin

There was only one type of guinea issued in 1774. The obverse has the fourth laureate head facing right and the crowned shield of arms on the reverse. Spink reference 3728.

The guinea was introduced into the British coinage in 1663 under Charles II, and continued until 1813 in the reign of George III.

At least six different types of guinea were issued for George III, from 1761 to 1813, including the well-known spade reverse (or spade ace).
