A 1699 laureate head William III 'Flaming hair' Shilling (fourth bust right). This coin is in VF or very fine condition.

The Flaming hair bust was only produced in years 1698 and 1699 and is generally scarcer than the other busts. Difficult to find in grades higher than fine.

Haymarking visible and also marks that look like adjustments marks from when the blanks have been adjusted.

Obverse

1699 William III 'flaming hair' Shilling. Laureate head, fourth bust. Latin legend reads GVLIELMVS III DEI GRA. This translates to 'William III by the grace of God.'

Reverse

Crowned arms of England (three lions), Scotland (single lion), France (fleur-de-lis) and Ireland (harp), Latin legend reads MAG BR FRA ET HIB REX. This translates to 'King of Great Britain France and Ireland.' The Lion of Nassau at the centre. Date divided by the crown.
