This is a Charles crown, issued for circulation in 1671.

There are two main types under Spink reference number 3357 (Second Bust) and 3358 (Third bust, larger and broader), there are a few different types under these reference numbers with different edge inscriptions or over lettering. Both main types list at approximately the same values in different grades.

Edge inscription reads DECVS. ET. TVTAMEN. ANNO. REGNI. VICESIMO. TERTIO.

Obverse

The obverse shows the third portrait of Charles II.
The legend reads:
CAROLUS II DEI GRATIA (Charles II by the Grace of God)

Reverse

The reverse design is a Royal Coat of Arms.

There are interlinked Cs in the angles and a garter star at centre.
The reverse legend reads:
MAG BR FR ET HIB REX 16 71 (Latin abbreviation translates to King of Great Britain, France and Ireland 1671)
