I then received a call to say that on preparing my order, a mark was spotted on one of the coins, and I was given the choice of whether I wanted to proceed with discounted price for the marked coin, or delete it from my order. which, to my mind is a good indicator of their honesty and integrity. The order was then processed immediately without issue. If this is the standard level of service they offer, especially considering that it was only a low value order, then I'd have no hesitation in recommending.”

“Lots of bullion dealers popping up, tik tok, WhatsApp etc and I’ve tried a couple of small buys, I had issues with both! Damaged mint PAMP bar, privy coins supposedly with capsules delivered loose, late delivery etc. I’ve never had a problem with Chards over multiple purchases, could you get some bits a couple of quid cheaper, probably. Would you get Chards level of service, doubtful. ”

“This is my first purchase of gold coins, and in general, it can be difficult to trust a website you’ve never ordered from before. That certainly isn’t the case with Chards. Before ordering, I emailed lots of questions and received a response within a day. Leslie answered everything fully, including some follow-up questions I had. I felt at ease with Chards right from the start; they came across as a genuine, trustworthy and friendly company. I placed an order for three sovereigns: a 1979 proof, an Edward VII and a Victoria ‘best value’ sovereign over the weekend. The coins were shipped on Monday and arrived on Tuesday morning by Royal Mail Special Delivery. The package gave no indication of what was inside, which is reassuring from a security point of view. The coins are in fantastic condition. The proof has retained its beautiful mirror-like finish. The older sovereigns arrived in the capsules I had purchased and were carefully wrapped in bubble wrap. I paid around £22 more for the two ‘best value’ sovereigns compared with buying new ones, which is very reasonable given that they’re great pieces of history and still contain 7.32g of fine gold each. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with my first purchase from Chards and will be happily buying from them again.”
