The fifth definitive UK coin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II features on the obverse of the coin. It was designed by Royal Mint engraver, Jody Clark, the initials JC are below the truncation. This portrait was launched in March 2015. These coins have a face value of one hundred pounds and feature the inscription ELIZABETH II·D·G·REG·F·D·100 POUNDS·
The reverse was designed by Wuon-Gean Ho, a British Chinese artist. The design is both inspired by UK and Chinese culture. It features a Marsh Daisy rooster, standing amongst ten Marsh Daisies. The Marsh Daisy Rooster originates from Lancashire and is one of Britain's endangered poultry breeds. The ten flowers represent the rooster being the tenth animal in the lunar cycle. The number ten is also thought to be particularly lucky.
