These 1966 Gold Full Sovereign Elizabeth II Royal Mint Coins are NGC graded by expert numismatists at the Numismatic Guaranty Company.

Each coin is struck in 22 carat gold (0.9167 fineness) and contains 0.2354 troy ounces of the precious metal.

1966 Full Sovereign Mintage

There were 7,050,000 sovereigns minted in 1966 which makes this a very common date for sovereigns.

Obverse

The Elizabeth II pre-decimal portrait, designed by British sculptor Mary Gillick features on the obverse of the 1966 sovereign. Mary Gillick's crownless portrait is still being struck on Maundy Money coins today.

Reverse

The 1966 British gold sovereign reverse shows St George mounted on horseback, slaying the Dragon. This classic design was created by Royal Mint Engraver Bernedetto Pistrucci, and first appeared on sovereigns in 1817.

Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
