1825 George IV Silver Sixpence Coin

This is an 1825 George IV silver sixpence. Three reverse designs were used George IV sixpences during his reign; the crown garnished shield, crowned shield with the Order of the Garter, and the lion on top of a crown. This coin shows the crowned shield of arms.

George IV was a lavish King. His lifestyle was different to that of his father, George III, and the King crown.

Obverse

Laureate portrait of George IV facing left, with the inscription:

'Georgius IIII D.G. Britanniar Rex F.D.'

Which translates as:

George IIII, by the Grace of God, King of Britain, Defender of the Faith

Reverse

The reverse shows a crowned coat of arms, surrounded by the Order of the Garter. The legend reads:

Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense.

VAT:
Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
