These coins all come supplied in capsules.

These coins are 22ct gold and exempt from capital gains tax.

Shield

Designed by Jean Baptiste Merlen, the design features a crowned shield of arms. This was used on the half Sovereigns of Queen Victoria from 1838 until 1893.

St George and the Dragon

When the modern Sovereign was introduced in 1817, the coin featured the St George and the Dragon reverse by Benedetto Pistrucci. The same design (minus the garter border and inscription) still appears on Sovereigns to this day.

2002 Shield of Arms

This was designed by Timothy Noad to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee. The reverse shows the Royal Arms within a laurel wreath.

Obverse

The Victoria shield half Sovereign features the jubilee head portrait. This was designed by Joseph Edgar Boehm.

The 2000 and 2002 coins both show the fourth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.

International Delivery

These may have minor scratches or edge knocks, but this does not affect their value. Any coin sold for a value less than a 180% intrinsic is considered a bullion coin.
VAT:
Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
