These proof coins are struck in 22 carat gold, 0.917 fineness and are issued in Troy weights 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz and 1/10oz. The set comes with a wooden presentation box and certificate of authentication.
Britannia coins, both proof and uncirculated are of interest to both the investor and the coin collector. The origina issue price from The Royal Mint for this set was £3,600. You will save approx £1,200 when you buy this set from us.
The Britannia gold gold sets are usually released each year in August or later. We received our first delivery of 2009 sets during July. Britannia proof sets have been issued every year since 1987.

The coins in the sets have on the obverse the portrait of the Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley, approved for use on United Kingdom coins from 1998.
In 1997, for the tenth anniversary of the gold Britannia coins, a special design was created, showing Britannia driving a chariot, in the style of Boudicca (Boudicea). This year it has been re-issued using this design, making it a rather special year for the collector of Britannia coins.
