We received our first delivery of silver Britannias on 12th December.
As in recent years, the 2015 silver Britannia will be struck in 0.999 fineness. It has a face value of £2 and contains one troy ounce of silver. The silver Britannia was introduced in 1997, following on from the success of the gold version. The field on both sides of the coin has a dimpled effect, giving it a matte finish. We prefer this as it doesn't show any production marks which we've come to expect in previous years.
The obverse features the fourth portrait of the Queen, as used from 1998 on all British coins. This will be the final time the portrait appears on the coins, as it it was replaced on 2nd March 2015.
The reverse design shows the classic standing Britannia.
