Whole Coin Set World 1984 Sarajevo Oympics Proof

Whole Coin Set World 1984 Sarajevo Oympics Proof

The winter olympics were held in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia in 1984. Since then, sadly, Sarajevo and Yugoslavia have become more famous for the recent Balkan war, in which Sarajevo was badly damaged by bombing and other fighting, and which has resulted in the breakdown of Yugoslavia into a number of separate nations. Even this has still not resolved the tensions in the area. On a brighter and more positive note, these attractive coins remind us of the pleasures of ski-ing and other winter sports, and of the previous happy times, which we hope have, and will return. They also serve to remind us of the ideals of the Olympic movement, which are intended to bring nations together in peaceful competition.
