The 1999 Britannia 1oz silver uncirculated coins feature a standing Britannia in a chariot by Philip Nathan. They are struck in 0.958 silver fineness and are highly sought after by collectors.
This coin was issued as a bullion coin. The finish on the pre-2013 Britannias is superior to the coins issued post-2013. These coins are struck in Britannia silver which is 0.958 fineness. In 2013, this changed to 0.999. The Britannia coin is classed as British Legal Tender and is exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
