The 2016 silver bullion Britannias are now in stock.
On 2nd March, 2015, The Royal Mint unveiled a new effigy of the Queen, designed by Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark. Whilst the 2015 proof Britannias had the new design on their obverse, the bullion coins kept the fourth design, by Ian Rank-Broadley. This makes the 2016 bullion Britannias the first to feature the fifth portrait. Since 2013 the silver Britannia coins have been made in 0.999 fine silver, rather than Britannia 0.958 fine silver. The one ounce coin has a face value of £2 and contains one troy ounce of silver.
The obverse features the fifth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
The reverse design shows the classic standing Britannia.
