Tenth ounce gold Year of the Rooster coin. This is part of the Perth Mint's Chinese lunar series. These coins are sold as an investment product.
The coin has a fineness of 9999 and contains one tenth of an ounce of gold.
The Year of the Rooster starts on 28th January, 2017, and is the Chinese year 4715. The rooster is the 10th animal in the 12 animal lunar cycle. Those born during the Year of the Rooster are said to be hardworking, observant, confident and honest.

The Australian lunar coins were released on 8th September, 2016, we received our allocation of gold coins on 20th September.
The obverse of the coin shows the Ian Rank-Broadley fourth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The face value of $15 is displayed, as well as the weight and fineness.
A standing rooster is featured on the reverse of the coin. It was designed by the artist, Aleysha Howarth. This is a different design to the one shown on the silver version of the coins.
