SynopsisThis week we're talking to Bhumika! She's our wonderful Customer Service Team Leader.
What is your hometown?
What brought you to Blackpool?
My parents and I moved to Blackpool when I was 14 and haven't looked back since
What do you do at Chards?
Customer Service Team Leader. I manage the day to day running of the customer service team. It can range from answering customer queries online, over the phone or in person, to supporting the team and ensuring that we are running smoothly and efficiently.
What's the best thing about working at Chards?
The sense of community that comes from being part of a small family run business, consisting of friendly and supportive colleagues, as well as being able to lead a team of capable and talented women!
What's your favourite coin?
What are you missing most during lockdown?
Like everyone, being able to visit friends and family, especially as we’re situated in different parts of the world and are pining for each other.
One thing you didn’t know about the coin / bullion industry before working at Chards?
Working at Chards has been an eye-opener. I've learnt about the intricacies of this whole new world of numismatics and precious metals investing
What are your top 3 things to make lockdown pass?
1/ This is Us - Amazon Prime - Truly a heartfelt and emotional show spanning between the past, present and future, focusing on a husband and wife and their 3 children. It is one the best made TV shows, definitely part of my all time favourite things to watch.
2/ In the Dark - Podcast - A gripping podcast with in-depth reporting and investigative journalism focusing on the justice system in the US. Only 2 seasons so far but each season has a different case. I do lose track of time especially listening to this whilst getting ready in the mornings!
3/ The Goldbergs - Channel 4 - Recently discovered this hilarious comedy based on the creator’s real life experience growing up in the 1980s. Lots of references to cassettes and VHS tapes, which as a 90s kid, I still remember fondly.
The one place you want to visit once lockdown's ended?
Since I had to cancel a scheduled holiday in April, I’d like to go back to India asap.
What would you be doing if you weren’t working at Chards?
Science and nature has always been something I’ve been interested in. The world has lots of wonderful aspects to offer so possibly something related to discovery and exploration.
Any interesting hobbies?
I'm massively into gardening at the moment. It is so satisfying to take care of a plant and watch it flourish. There have been some disappointments which shall not be talked about, but are forever in my bad books
