The New 2017 Peter Rabbit Fifty Pence Coin

Last year, the 2016 Peter Rabbit coloured silver proof fifty pence caused such a stir that it sold out within days of its release. This 2017 Peter Rabbit coin is the sixth in the series of Beatrix Potter fifty pence coins celebrating the 150th Anniversary of her birth.

Designed by Emma Noble, the coloured silver proof fifty pence comes in a perspex display block and is accompanied by an illustrated booklet. The brilliant uncirculated coin comes in a presentation folder. A coin will also be released into circulation. We have no doubt that all three coins will be highly sought after by collectors of all ages.

The Tale of Peter Rabbit

Beatrix Potter's book The Tale of Peter Rabbit sold over 150 million copies. The mischievous little bunny, Peter Rabbit, is one of Britain's favourite characters from Beatrix Potter's collection of short stories. Her tales are still popular today with generation after generation growing up listening to bedtime stories.

The Beatrix Potter Tale continues....

In 2016, we saw the release of five fifty pence coins to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Birth of Beatrix Potter. The public couldn't get enough of them and bidding frenzies ensued, particularly with the Peter Rabbit fifty pences. Silver proof coins were seen on auction sites with prices of over £2,500 and as soon as the uncirculated coin was released into circulation in the Lake District they were changing hands for upwards of £20 each. An amazing profit on a coin with a face value of 50p.
