2020 Dinosaur Hylaeosaurus Mantell 1833 B.U. 50 Pence Coin

It has been announced that The Royal Mint will produce a series of Dinosaur fifty pence coins in 2020. The coins will feature the Megalosaurus, Hylaeosaurus and Iguanodon; the three species of dinosaur that paleontologist Richard Owen famously referred to in 1842 when announcing the discovery of a new animal, the dinosaur.

We do not know what the series will be called, but we think it may be "British Scientific Discoveries" or "Great British Scientists".

Information about the coins is scarce and we do not know a release date. If you would like to be notified for further information please sign up to our mailing list below.
