The coin comes in a colourful presentation folder, designed by Robin Shaw, the Assistant Director of The Snowman and the Snowdog. The coin itself is fully licensed by Snowman Enterprises Limited.
The Snowman was written by Raymond Briggs tells the story of a Snowman and his friendship with a young boy. The book was first published in 1978. In 1982 it was adapted into a film, which become an instant classic.
The obverse was designed by Jody Clark and shows the fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
The reverse of the coin shows a the boy and the snowman. The forest and snowy mountains can be seen in the background.
