Who We Are

Chard is an established coin and bullion dealer and jeweller based in Blackpool, England.

Originally a two man band located at Dale Street, Blackpool, we moved to our current premises at Lytham Road in 1970 and now employ over fifteen members of staff.

Our Director, Lawrence Chard started the business with his cousin Robert as R & L Coins back in 1964, since then Robert has moved on but Lawrence is still heavily involved in the business.

The Company Secretary is Lawrence’s wife, Jane who used to be a full time Librarian at various local libraries but now comes in to the office on a daily basis to assist with the packing, post and banking.

Our Business Manager, Caroline has been employed by us for nearly nine years, originally starting as a member of the admin team to work her way through Uni and is now working towards her MA in Developing Professional Practice.

Hilary’s story is even better! She was originally employed as an Apprentice in our old retail jewellers, Oppenheimer Ltd. Upon the closure of that store she moved to our current premises and is now our Jewellery Manager, in charge of all our diamond buying, jewellery design and creation, and jewellery buying and selling.

The rest of our team are a group of highly qualified, energetic and enthusiastic individuals with different roles from photography and I.T. to admin and marketing – we even have our own Internet Marketing Specialist! They’ve worked here for between one and ten years and we hope to have them with us for many more!
