Then maybe this could be the job for you. Chard are seeking a Trainee Commercial Numismatist as either job share or to work alongside our resident Numismatist.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in the “history in our hands!” We're looking for someone who would like to be a part of a team and would like to be involved in the purchasing, selling, cataloguing and storage of coins. You will be meeting the public and dealers, buying and selling coinage items and also writing copy for our coin websites. You will be involved in the correct storage and display of coin collections and the maintenance of records. Communication is key, so you mustn't be afraid of the telephone or the public!

Joining our busy company, you will be involved in research, buying and selling and grading of coins. An interest in History is an advantage, as is the ability to use various computer programs.

You will need a good sense of humour, be smart and presentable, and able to work well as part of a team and also on your own initiative.

Out of our twelve full time team members, seven are educated to degree level and the other three are currently working towards NVQ 2 and 3 qualifications.
Our Office Manager started working for us as an administrator nearly six years ago and was promoted within two years.
Our Jewellery Manager has been employed by Chard since 1991 and started off as an Office Junior.
The rest of our team have been working here for between 1 - 6 years and we hope to have them with us for many more.

We would be prepared to create an individual job around an individual with the right skills and interests. Our current admin staff also design web pages, order stock, and contribute in many other ways depending on their skills, interests, and qualifications.

Criteria
